Live Thanet Web

Thanet Web Week Two

The second week is over and we have expanded the use of the primary keyword within the content pages of the site and re-evaluated the references to encourage interest from the search engines.

The site now has order-able products and can operate as a standalone e commerce website. There are plans to add more products but one of the key methodologies is not do everything at once and to pace out the content to give the search engines time to position us.

The site has been submitted to Yahoo and Bing, but I can expect a fairly long wait before anything really happens there.

In the meantime we will carry out tests next week to judge some search engine responses and see what we can do to improve the relevancy of the site further.

Weproofofpudding1 can see that the initial referencing is working within Google as the site appears in second position for 'thanet e commerce website design' and in position 1 for 'thanet web'. Right direction but not yet the right keywords, so still more to do.

Thanet Web Week One

The site is launched and accessible http://www.thanetweb.co.uk

The site includes the basic content and products that are relevant to the services on offer. The meta tags and description set out are for a site wide solution and the content will help to generate the other relevant content searches at this stage.

To make the site more interesting we have also included two facilities that will help in the future marketing programme, including a Photographic Competition,  which we will get to in future weeks and a local business directory, the reasons for which I will go into in more detail in coming weeks.

The site includes tidy search engine links and has so far been submitted to Google.

The primary keyword we are starting with is simply Thanet Web Design.

You will notice that I have used the keyword above and created a link from it to the site. This is because I want search engines referencing the Research Mode site to know that  I identify the keyword directly with that site under that search term.

Because Research Mode is a Google pagerank 5, that gives the link a little extra push towards its commencement of pagerank importance.

I am not expecting any real progress for a few more weeks yet so watch this space.

Next stage is the submission of Thanet Web onto Yahoo and Bing.

Thanet Web Day One

Technically not 'day one' as we have already created the site and published it.

Thanet Web is now accessible on the web and so is searchable by the search engine robots who are free to peruse and refrence it.

The initial Level 1 optimisation stage one includes the following elements

  • Creating Search Engine friendly URL's
  • Create relative site wide meta description and meta tags
  • Carry out a basic keyword review
  • Establish keyword titling on relevant pages
  • Submission to Google
  • Creation and submission of Sitemap

All very basic stuff but then the first steps always are.
